Collection: Margaux Lange Charmed

Margaux Lange is a contemporary jewelry artist best known for her Plastic Body Series—a bold collection that reimagines salvaged Barbie doll parts, combining them with hand-fabricated sterling silver and resins. Through this work, Lange explores and critiques the cultural impact of Barbie as a pop icon; inviting conversations around nostalgia, identity, beauty standards, feminism and consumerism. Conceived during her BFA studies at the Maryland Institute College of Art (2001), the Plastic Body Series has evolved into a widely recognized body of work. While Lange’s formal Fine Arts education provided the conceptual framework for her practice, she credits her early fascination with Barbie in childhood as the spark that ignited her creativity and helped to develop her manual dexterity. Lange’s work has been exhibited internationally and featured in numerous books and top publications of art, fashion, and design. Her work is included in the permanent collections of the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the Mint Museum. Lange’s jewelry continues to resonate with art collectors, Barbie enthusiasts, and fearless individuals who value unconventional adornment, social commentary and beautifully crafted, wearable art. Lange resides in the Hudson Valley region of New York.
